Our Himalayan rose hip tea: a value chain supporting Samagaun

Date Published

Since 2021, H.E.L.P has been collaborating with Canadian luxury tea company TEALEAVES to create a rose hip value chain with the Samagaun community.

This fruitful collaboration makes sure that organic rose hip is picked, cleaned and dried by the community and then sent to TEALEAVES who makes a tea whose 100% of the profit goes to the villagers of Samagaun.

The Himalayan Mountain tea was featured in high-end institutions and was one of the projects which got H.E.L.P. (then Tergar Charity Nepal) the prestigious Equator Prize from the UNDP.

H.E.L.P. is working to create more biodiversity-positive value chains for villages in Nubri and Tsum so that environmental preservation can go hand in hand with income generation for grassroots communities.

We are grateful to have such amazing collaborators like TEALEAVES supporting us in doing so!
